2016 The de Leon Prizes in Neuroimaging

The de Leon Prizes in Neuroimaging recognize a senior scientist and a new investigator who are judged to have each published the best paper in any peer-reviewed journal related to the topic of in-vivo neuroimaging of a neurodegenerative process. Members of the Neuroimaging Professional Interest Area are the nominating body for the awards. 

Senior Scientist:

Kirsten Viola, Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., United States
For the paper entitled: Towards a non-invasive imaging of early-stage Alzheimer's disease

 

New Investigator:

Melissa Murray, Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Fla., United States
For the paper entitled: Clinicopathologic and PiB-PET implications of Thal amyloid phase across the spectrum of Alzheimer's disease: A retrospective study

 

A call for nominations will launch early next year for the 2017 de Leon Prizes in Neuroimaging.  

Alzheimer's Imaging Consortium best oral and poster presentations

The following AIC presenters received recognition for their oral and poster presentations presented at the 2016 Alzheimer's Imaging Consortium (AIC). 

Best AIC 2016 Oral Award:

For the presentation entitled: Network-Based Tau Deposition Patterns Are Related to Functional Network Failure Largely Via Beta-Amyloid Across the Alzheimer's Spectrum 

 

Best AIC 2016 Poster Award:

For the poster entitled: Regional Tau-PET Uptake Patterns and their Association with Braak Staging, Cognition, and Onset Dementia
