We're moving forward with plans to host the Walk to End Alzheimer's in person this fall. We are planning every Walk with the health and safety of our constituents, staff and volunteers as our top priorities. All events will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, masks (where required), contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. We will continue to closely monitor Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and local guidelines to ensure Walk events adhere to recommendations and are safe for attendees.

Parking is anywhere near Segra! There are many lots around the park.

Know before you go:

  • We encourage you to wear your halloween costumes! We will award winners in several different categories: Best Kids Costume, Best Family Costume, Best Purple Costume and more! Make sure to join us near the stage at 9:30 am to show off your costume for a chance to win!
  • Remember this is a rain or shine event! We recommend that you pay attention to the weather the morning of the Walk and dress accordingly.
  • Our wonderful sponsors will have tables for some fun trick or treating. So bring your bucket for candy and goodies! 
  • Give yourself time to enjoy the festivities before the opening ceremony at 9:45 AM!
    • Pick your flower from the Promise Garden. It's yours to take home with you! 
    • Relax and connect with other caregivers
    • Visit the Alzheimer's Association tables sponsor tables in the concourse for information, treats and goodies.
    • Gather your team for a photo

    Along the walk route, there will be a water stop along the route near the intersection of Richland and Pickens Streets. 

    There is no closing ceremony so we encourage you to slow down once you return to Segra Park to enjoy photo opportunities with your team, check out our fundraising total to date on the Segra Park scoreboard, and meet out of this world characters who’ve come out to help celebrate with us before you finish the Walk and leave to enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

  • The end of our Walk route is a lap in the Segra Park outfield. (IF YOU HAVE STROLLERS OR A WHEELCHAIR, You can end the route in front of the park because it is hard to roll on the outfield.)

General Information

Where do the funds go?
All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. The Alzheimer's Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Do I have to register in order to Walk?
Yes, we want to know you're walking with us and need every participant to sign a standard waiver through their official registration. There is no registration fee for Walk. However, we ask every participant to make a personal donation and commit to raising funds in the fight against Alzheimer's.

Do I need to register my children for Walk?
Yes, children should register. Parents/guardians can register children online or complete an offline registration form and sign the waiver on behalf of the child.

Does every participant get a T-shirt?
Every registered participant who achieves the fundraising minimum of $100 will receive an official Walk to End Alzheimer's T-shirt via USPS. To receive a shirt in time for Walk day, participants must raise the T-shirt minimum at least four weeks prior to the event.

How do I get my offline donations to show up on my personal fundraising web page?
Donations can be made offline by submitting a check or money order by mail or hand-delivering to the local Alzheimer's Association office. Be sure to include your offline donation form, which can be found in your Participant Center or on your fundraising web page, to make sure you receive credit for the donation. Donations typically take one to two weeks to show up on your web page. Don't want to wait? You can also deposit checks directly to your Walk page from the Walk to End Alzheimer's mobile app for iPhone or Android.
