I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®.
I walk to honor my father-in-law and mother-in-law; a wonderful couple who lived with Alzheimer’s disease. My father-in-law, Chet, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s several years ago and my mother-in-law was his constant companion and caregiver through this journey.
Chet passed away just five days shy of his 91st birthday in December 2018. He lived a full and happy life. Alzheimer’s did not become a major player in his life until the last five or so years. Although the disease robbed him of his memories and his independence, he never lost his sense of humor.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's! Every little bit helps.
