I am walking because my Mom, Phyllis Attig, had this terrible disease and passed away December 2016. I don't want anyone else to go through what our family went through. That is why I walk. I want to researchers to find a cure or prevention in my lifetime so my kids don't have to go through what we did with my Mom.
My Mom was a quilter and avid reader. She taught quilting classes and loved doing it. In her late 60's I could see a change in her. She couldn't follow a pattern any more or seemed lost when doing the simplest project. This disease not only robs a person of their life but robs them of their memories.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
