Why We Walk:

As a member of the Brookdale Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's team, you can make a real difference for individuals who are living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, and the people who love them.

Brookdale is a leader in providing quality, person-centered care for our residents who are living with dementia – we’ve been providing this care for more than 30 years.

Brookdale is also a leader in raising funds to fight Alzheimer’s. Our residents, families, associates, and business partners come together each year in a nationwide resolve to win against Alzheimer’s by providing care and resources to affected families. We raise funds through participation in local Walk to End Alzheimer’s® events, from efforts of our communities and our home and corporate support office associates in Nashville and Milwaukee, and from company business partners. The money raised is used for research as well as to fund local chapters’ support groups and other resources.

Since 2008, Brookdale has contributed over $20 million to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. In many of these years, we surpassed an annual $2 million dollar mark for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® program as a Diamond National Team. This is possible because our residents, families, associates, and business partners truly believe in this purposeful cause.

Our efforts are not just about donations; they are about making a difference. I personally know the impact that Alzheimer’s has had on my own family and I am proud that our Brookdale family is so passionate about finding a cure and supporting all who are impacted by this disease.
