Team page of Hope4Nancy

Alzheimer's Disease is the third leading cause of death in Washington state, and affects over 100,000 individuals. Alzheimer's generally affects people over the age of 65; less than 5% are afflicted with Early Onset Alzheimer's, with symptoms starting before age 65. Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer's, nor any effective treatment--the disease remains fatal.

For us, this is personal. Diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's in 2013, Nancy Johnson is part of that 5%. A Physical Therapist from the Auburn area, Nancy and her husband Joel opened Lakeland Sports and Spine Physical Therapy in 2003, and she directed the clinic until the effects of Alzheimer's forced her to retire in December, 2014. We have pledged to walk alongside Nancy--not only in support and honor of her--but also for her tireless efforts to bring awareness of this disease, to raise money for needed research, and in hopes of one day finding a cure.

In 2016, Team Hope4Nancy raised $30,000 for the Alzheimer's cause. Let's make 2017 another successful walk year!
