My mystery novel, Going Home, was inspired by my mother's battle with Alzheimer's. I've been amazed at how many readers tell me they've lost a friend or family member to Alzheimer's, and they could really relate to my portrayal of the heroine's mother.
Going Home is a fast-paced who-dunnit about a baby-boomer who comes home to check on her elderly mother and finds her hovered over the bludgeoned body of her caregiver. Alone. Unable to explain what happened. Immediately labeled a suspect.
The heroine is forced into a caregiving role while trying to prove her mother's innocence. Unexpected complications from her past emerge to distract her from her quest while she watches her mother slowly succumb to this deadly disease.
I will be giving away copies of Going Home at various Alzheimer's fundraisers around town. Anyone who donates at least $25 to the Alzheimer's Walk on my personal page is eligible for a free copy of Going Home. When you make your donation, please let me know if you'd like a book and where you want it sent, or if you'd like to make arrangements to pick it up.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please buy a copy of Going Home and make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
