We have raised
A What to Expect on Walk Day email will be sent to all registered participants Monday, October 17 to Wednesday, October 19. If you are a team captain and registered multiple people with the same email, you will be responsible for relaying information to them. Other pertinent info is below:
ONLINE REGISTRATION: Is now closed so that staff have the most up to date reports. You will be able to register on Walk day starting at 4 PM. Print this registration form and bring it with you to Walk. You do not need to fill this form out if you are already registered.
VOLUNTEERS: Those students who are interested in volunteering on the day of the event should reach out to Kassidy, 757.642.8658.
PARKING: From Main Street, turn on Wynne Dr at the traffic light. Travel down one block and turn left into gravel lot- PINE STREET SOUTH LOT. Park in Visitor Section. Volunteers in purple shirts and orange vests will be on site to direct you.
CEREMONY: The opening ceremony is a part of Longwood University's opener to their Oktoberfest event. This will start at approximately 4:45 PM at Lancaster Hall.
WALK START: 5 PM
WALK ROUTE: 2 MILES around campus- ROUTE MAP
DONATIONS: There is no fee to register but this is a fundraiser. We ask that all participants make a contribution of some amount towards their efforts. Please ensure that checks are made payable to ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION. Donations post Walk can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association: Attn: 2016 FARM Walk, 6350 Center Dr, #102, Norfolk VA 23502.
Deadline for donations to count towards participation in the National Incentive Program is Nov 30.
Deadline for all donations to count towards the 2016 season is Dec 30.
TEE SHIRTS: Tee shirts will be available to registered participants who have raised the minimum $100 towards their Walk efforts.
CHAMPIONS CLUB: A medal will be placed around the neck of any registered participants who raise $500 or more towards their Walk efforts. More details about this exclusive club.
