Kenny Sisk - Personal Fundraising Page
Alzheimer's has shaped our family. Our beloved patriarch - my dad - Ira Sisk - dealt with it for many years before winning his earthly battle and moving to paradise on July 4, 2010. We all learned a lot about him during this time - that he remained a man of integrity with the most kind and caring heart - and with THE BEST sense of humor - throughout his journey. We learned a lot about Mom as she steadfastly stayed by his side and loved and cared for him selflessly until the very end. And we learned a lot about how precious and fleeting family can be.
I miss Dad more today than I did when he passed away over eight years ago. And, I am more motivated than ever to help raise money and awareness to help others avoid or lessen their journey with Alzheimer's.
Also joining Team New Heights this year ia returning rider Bob Dollinger - who lost his grandmother to Alzheimer's.
And Martin Jansen van Rensberg - my friend who is helping his mother-in-law through her journey now.
Together we make up Team New Heights and we are very excited to join this fantastic event again in 2019.
By participating in A Ride to Remember, I'm taking on the enormous physical challenge and personal adventure of cycling across South Carolina. I've also committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Now is the time to come together to change the course of this disease!
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease! Your support means the world to me on this memorable journey!
