Why We Walk: At Artis Senior Living we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those who are impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This is why we have partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association on many projects and initiatives over the years. And this year, we have made the commitment to be a National Walk team.

In each of our Artis communities, we live by a strong philosophy called “Positive Partnerships the Artis Way”. It is a belief that positive moments can and should be created through a partnership with residents, associates, families, and other professionals. This is done by following the principals of our philosophy:

When you read those principals, it should be noted that they are not exclusive to memory care. We take great pride in being experts in human care as well as being experts in memory care. The Alzheimer’s Association also has a strong belief in the importance of person centered care. So this partnership makes perfect sense. Our goals are aligned. To make a difference in the lives of those with dementia. But also to one day see a world without Alzheimer’s.

The funds we raise together will fund research so that there are better treatments and ultimately a cure. We also understand the importance of supporting those who are currently faced with this disease. Support groups, which many Artis communities host, a 24 hour hotline (800-272-3900) and educational programs which Artis has sponsored and supported across the country are ways that the funds we raise will make a difference.

We encourage you, your family, your friends, and co-workers to join the Artis team and help in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
