Why I Ride:
Again this year I am riding for my mom. My mom has always been the heart of our family and her friends. This year has been harder seeing her slow decline with this disease but her strong spirit is still going. She is loving time with friends and family, even if she does not always connect with the situation or the people specifically. I know she feels the love that is surrounding her. She enjoys her time relaxing at home, puzzles and suffed animals.
We are fortunate that she is still able to be home and cared for by my father. She is happiest at home.
Alzheimer's has robbed us of this wonderful woman's mind. She puts on a smile everyday, even when she is unsure... but I ride to try to help end this disease for the future generations to not ever have to deal with this.
