This is my fourth Ride To End ALZ. My first ride was during the pandemic while I worked through the loss of my grandfather, John Howells, after a long battle with dementia. I wasn't able to be with him when he passed and we hadn't been able to hold a funeral. The Ride To End ALZ gave me a place to channel grief into purpose.
Why I Ride: Over 6 million Americans live with this disease and over 11 million family members and friends provide them with care. I am determined to see these numbers shrink in my lifetime, and I will do all I can to play a small part in raising critical funds for research for treatment, intervention, and prevention methods.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. With gratitude, I ask for your support.
Since I will be on my trusty Peloton, I'll embark on this ride with the #HardCORE Fights ALZ team - a community that continues to show up for one another. Thank you for cheering me on and thank you for your support!
Cheer Me On!
