Why I Ride: I lost one of my very favorite people in the world in January, my Grandpa Black. Though it was ultimately an aortic dissection that caused his death, he has been "gone" for several years with Alzheimer's disease. I've seen the toll this disease can take and the impact it has on patients and families. The caregiver burden and hardship of having a family member who is physically ok but cognitively debilitated is difficult to stomach.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
I'm riding 60 miles in Wimberley TX this fall to raise funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
