is fundraising to honor:
her Mother Margaret Mitchell
Thanks for some of y'all coming along with me again on this journey for the third (!!) time.
My Mamma, Margaret Mitchell, started her Alzheimer's and dementia journey in her mid-to-late 50s, which was a shock to all of us. Although it's been a difficult journey, she continues to inspire us with her positivity, light, and laughter every single day.
She's the reason why I have Joni Mitchell on my playlists, and why I spend countless hours in the garden in summer months. And let's get one thing straight: I definitely attribute any ounce of cleverness I have to being raised by this quick-witted defense attorney.
So why the Alzheimer's Association? Well, without getting onto my soapbox about inaccessible health care and absolutely unaffordable medical systems holding this country together with craft glue and hope as a strategy...
The Alzheimer's Association provides critical funds and support directly to families and individuals, as well as supporting research and legislative changes to better support folks living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer's.
My family has relied on the Alz Association in our time of need as well, especially when we were just embarking on this journey and looking for some help and answers.
Whether it's $5 or $500, your donation counts. And if you can't donate right now, shoot me a text with a song to add on my Half Marathon playlist. All forms of love and support are accepted in this house.
Thank you, love you, and see you at the finish line.
