The Atypical Alzheimer’s
disease and Associated Syndromes PIA brings together a multi-disciplinary group
of clinicians and researchers with an interest in atypical presentations of
Alzheimer’s disease and associated syndromes. This session will comprise of:
Clinical teaching
sessions on posterior cortical atrophy (PCA) and logopenic phonological aphasia
(LPA) variants of Alzheimer’s disease, involving clinical videos and addressing
issues of diagnosis, management and support.
- A review of our histopathological understanding of
typical and atypical Alzheimer's disease.
- Project presentations on two current collaborative
international studies of PCA genetics and the clinical characterisation of
frontal variant Alzheimer's disease.
- Atypical AD data blitz: your opportunity to provide a 5
minute summary of your current research into atypical Alzheimer's disease or
associated syndromes.
