Hi Everyone! My name is Norman Howard and I’m so excited to be a participant in this year’s Dancing Stars of Columbus.
I was born and raised in a small community in Alabama named Holy Trinity, and I’ve lived in the local area my entire life. I’m married to Angel (my high school sweetheart) and we’re fast approaching our 31st wedding anniversary. We are proud parents and grandparents of our two children (DeShaun and Jamal), and our adorable grandson (Kyser).
I’ve been employed with TSYS for 32 years and have served in a number of different roles during my career. I’m currently in a leadership role responsible for our North America Client Service Management organization. In my free time I enjoy working out, watching sporting events and most importantly spending time with my family. Although I’m no professional when it comes to dancing, I do enjoy a variety of music and dancing at family gatherings or just having fun dancing at home.
Unfortunately, I’m very familiar with Alzheimer’s and the impact it has on its victims and their families. In early 2008 my mother (Irene Howard) was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and succumbed to the disease in January of 2011. I will be dancing in memory of my mother and all the victims and families touched by this terrible disease.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number will continue to increase. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. I’m asking for your support to help me do my part! Please vote for me and make a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance research into prevention, treatments and cure for Alzheimer’s. With your help we can make a difference.
