Fundraising Honor Roll

Thank you for visiting my personal page! When I was first asked to consider doing this event, I figured what a great and fun way to raise money for a cause that is not always recognized in mainstream media. Linking the fundraising to the well-known popular dance show will not only help raise money, but also engage a group of people that may not normally be aware of the effects of Alzheimers! Despite knowing that I will be venturing out of my comfort zone, I was honored to be asked and accepted the invitation and challenge.

I was born is Chicago, Illinois but ultimately spent most of my time being raised in Texas. Where as a Texas Longhorn...Hook Em'!, I completed a BA in Biology before moving to New York City to attend podiatry school. Shortly after witnessing the tragic events of  9/11, I was recruited to Columbus, GA by the late Dr. James (Joe) Bartley to join his well established practice Foot and Ankle of West Georgia. It is here, with my wife Pinki, and two boys Dilan and Jaiden, we have decided to firmly establish our roots and haven't looked back since.

Although I don't have a direct personal family connection to Alzheimer's, not a day goes by where my staff and I are not witnessing it in my practice. My fondest memory of the condition is in regards to a diabetic patient with the afflicted condition that could not regulate his blood sugars properly due to forgetting when he ate. He would have a meal with his family and then turn around an hour later and eat again on his own. This happened more than once throughout the day weekly. Unfortunately, he developed an ulcer on his foot that would not heal and ultimately led to an amputation. It wasn't shortly thereafter he lost his life due to complications of Alzheimer's and diabetes.  I have heard of similar instances all too often.

As I am now becoming more and more familiar with Alzheimer's, I am realizing more needs to be done. I am hoping that this event and my efforts can bring hope and provide a small contribution to the finding a cure. What myself and the other privileged dancers are doing, may only provide a drop in a support bucket that needs a lot of filling.  We are dancing to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in this event, we are committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.

I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. Even little as $5 will help the overall goal we are trying accomplish!

Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here. Forget Alzheimer's...Remember the Cause!
