Rally On Church Street

Please join us on the Church Street Marketplace on June 20, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. so we can honor the caregivers of the 12,000+ Vermonters living with Alzheimer's.

The Rally on Church Street will be held on the Summer Solstice--the longest day of the year.  Our purpose is to acknowledge the compassion and dedication of the 30,000 unpaid VT caregivers assisting their loved ones with Alzheimer's or dementia.  For many individuals living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers, every day can be the longest day.

Alzheimer's is a thief in that it steals a person's dignity and independence, and mental and physical health. We WILL find a cure for Alzheimer's with your help.

From 4 - 6pm we'll generally gather on the City Hall Block. At 5pm sharp, we'll march from the top of Church Street to the steps of City Hall for a brief post-march program featuring Emcee Ginny McGhee Condon, Martha Richardson of the Alzheimer's Association and Mission Speaker Nancy Sterns Bercaw.

Special thanks to the City of Burlington Mayor's Office for their official proclamation of The Longest Day to honor the selfless daily contributions of caregivers for their loved ones.

~ The first 100 march participants will receive a free purple or white carnation.
~ Stop by Leunig's for dinner and 10% of your meal will be donated to The Longest Day Rally on Church Street.
~ Alex And Ani will host a Charmed By Charity Soiree from 4-6pm and 15% of sales will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association, Vermont Chapter.

We are grateful for our sponsors: Church Street Marketplace, Burlington Town Center, Leunig's Bistro, Villanti Printers, Kathy & Company Florist, Alex & Ani, KOOL 105.1, WJOY, WPTZ NewsChannel 5, and FreePressMedia.
