Our next chapter is here.
Making an impact is simple, flexible and starts with you!
We are thrilled to build on the success of The Longest Day® with a fresh name — Do What You Love to End ALZ™ — and new resources that empower our participants to thrive.
Create your own fundraiser and outshine the darkness of Alzheimer's.
The Longest Day® is the day with the most light – the summer solstice. Join us to fight Alzheimer's through a fundraising activity of your choice on a day that works for you. The funds you raise advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association®.
Registration is closed for 2025 as we prepare for the 2026 season that will launch in September. Fundraising and recruitment for existing events can continue for 2025 through the end of October. Join us again in September to kick off the new season.
There is no doubt The Longest Day holds a special place in our hearts. The transition to Do What You Love to End ALZ provides us with the opportunity to grow our impact and engage communities year round.
The new name captures what makes the event so powerful — its flexibility, personalization and the emotional connection that draws people to their passion. It’s simple, clear and easy to share, all while staying true to the spirit of the original event.
We are excited for you to be part of our next chapter as we continue to work toward a future without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
And now it’s easier than ever to participate:
1. Choose your passion.
Hiking, golfing, gaming, crafting, play pickleball or bridge, host a cookout or purple party — no matter what your passion is, you can make it a fundraiser to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
2. Add the power of your community — and our expertise.
Do What You Love to End ALZ gives you the flexibility to host your own fundraiser doing something you love on your own time. You’ll receive a welcome kit with helpful tools and resources to get started.
3. Get started.
Alzheimer’s affects every community. That’s why creating a future without Alzheimer’s is a cause that requires all of us to let our love shine, every day.
Visit alz.org/dowhatyoulove to select an activity, pick a date and fundraise for a future without Alzheimer’s.
The Longest Day website is no longer accepting new registrations that create events. All new fundraising events should be registered at alz.org/dowhatyoulove. Existing events on The Longest Day website have until October 31 to complete their recruitment and fundraising.
