Tribute to Eric L Peterson

Eric Leonard Peterson, beloved husband of June Ruth (nee Forsberg, deceased), died on February 20, 2022 in North Ridgeville, Ohio at age 92. He was born in Paris France to Claus Edmund Peterson and Ingeborg Marie (nee Pedersen, both deceased) who moved to Worcester, Massachusetts when Eric was very young.

Dear father of four beloved sons and their families: Christian (Janice), Allen (Barbara), Kurt (fiancée Lisa Wang), and John (Mary). Grandfather of Jennifer Germain, Brian, Jessica Harrop, William, Christian, Erika Georgakis, Ryan, Amanda Hoffert, Catherine, and Anne. Proud great grandfather of 12 children.

Graduate of Worcester Academy, graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, BS Mechanical Engineering, US Army veteran, Korea. Mr. Peterson retired in 1989 from Union Carbide, Energizer Battery Division and Ralston Purina, Energizer as a Product Analysis Manager after a 39-year career. He was a 50-year member of Bay Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon, elder, and choir soloist.

Eric struggled with throat cancer and had his larynx removed in 1989. He mastered esophageal speech and carried on with his life for a full additional 32 years. In his later years dementia began challenging his daily activities and, in the end, caused his passing.

A memorial service will be held at Bay Presbyterian Church on Saturday March 12 at 11:00am with private interment the following Monday. His obituary can be found on the BushCares website.
