She was an artist. And it did not matter what the medium was: ceramics, metal, jewelry, wreaths, fabric, gardens, food. She did them all.

Working in dimensional media, she approached her craft with artistry and passion. As a chef, she was the quintessential multi-tasker, turning out sumptuous feasts for 30 or 3,000.

All this--and ultimately, her life--was taken away by Alzheimer's Disease. Slowly, but ever so surely, this insidious disease filled the last two years of her life with ambiguity, confusion, frustration, and depression.

How Can You Help?

Please do not send flowers or other transient tributes.

Please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. It is a major funder of research, a major hope for finding treatment or even a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

The Alzheimer's Association also educates and offers support. It was here for us when we needed help. The 24 hour support line found me calling on many a night as I struggled with Marbeth's condition. It must be here for the countless millions who will eventually suffer the same fate until we find the elusive prevention, treatment, and cure.

What am I Doing?

The "first person" on this page is Marbeth's husband, Ken. The loss of Marbeth has devastated, yet simplified my life: no other political, social, medical, or other issue is important to me any more.

And I am spending ALL of my available time, energy, and money making people aware of Alzheimer's Disease and it's horrible prognosis and supporting organizations dedicated to research to find treatments and eventually a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

I invite you to join me.
