Our father, Jim Sanders, was the smartest man we ever knew. He had two passions in life...his family and the pursuit of knowledge. Always an avid reader, he read countless books in a variety of subjects and possessed a remarkable ability to retain the information. This meant when we played Trivial Pursuit on vacations at the beach, you definitely wanted him on your side because his team always won.

When we were growing up "our daddy can fix anything" was a point of pride for us, and it was pretty much true. He just knew how everything worked. Later in life, he started building computers and he made sure anyone in the family who needed or wanted a computer got one... with the best mother board, hard drive and memory installed by his own hands. He loved astrophysics and could explain quantum mechanics and string theory in layman's terms. He would proof read our college papers and make them better than we ever could on our own. His mind was brilliant...until Alzheimer's took hold of it.

Alzheimer's destroyed our dad's mind and body. The computers he once built, he couldn't even power on. The books he once read, he couldn't even hold. The children he once loved more than anything in the world, he couldn't even recognize. And it eventually took his life on April 4, 2015 at the young age of 68.

Please consider donating to Alzheimer's Association to help eradicate this terrible disease.
