June (Kern) Kircher, was born to Harry and Rose Kern in 1923, grew up in St.Louis during the great depression and came of age during World War II. As a member of the "greatest generation" she faced these difficult days in history with determination and optimism and later remembered them nostalgically as a time when families and neighbors supported and took care of each other. She lived with the wisdom that the greatest possession people could have was to be surrounded by the laughter and warmth of their family and friends - and she sought those opportunities enthusiastically her entire life.

She loved her husband, Edward, deeply and passionately and just as deeply felt his loss 17 years ago.
She cared for her children and despite modest means she took pride in providing a life of abundance and opportunity to them, instilling in them a sense of confidence and the value of frugality.
She took joy in their accomplishments, their spouses, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She loved her brothers and sisters and her husband's brothers and sisters with all of her heart. They were her family, her community and her social network. In the presence of that part of her family her eyes glowed with the depth of shared memories of both hard times and wonderful times that only they could understand.

We will remember her for the wonderful times she sought to join and to create.
We will remember her as a skilled homemaker and provider.
We will remember her as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
We will remember her for her humor and vitality and even for her stubbornness.

But most of all - we will remember that she loved each of us deeply and that the joy of being in our presence was the meaning and purpose of Her life.
