A pround grandmom
1971, Mary proudly holds her first born grandchild. The written note on the back of the photo reads, "a good 13 pounds". This may have been a sign of things to come, as a few of his friends now refer to him as "big guy". Of course, she always thought of him as her little grandson, and someone to care for.
A birthday tradition
Growing up, a birthday always meant having a Carvel ice cream cake at grandmom's. Usually, a metal sparkler would be used, but any candle available would do in a pinch. The cake tasted just as good.
In this photo, Mary celebrates her grandson Frank's 8th birthday with her husband Carmen, Her daughter-in-law Debbie, and her grandchildren (left to right) Marianne, Thomas and Frank.
