is fundraising to honor:
her mother, Arlene, and all those facing Alzheimer's.
to fight Alzheimer's
When my memoir, Her Beautiful Brain, was published in 2014, I had every intention of producing an audio version. But my small publisher is not in the audio book business, so I knew I would be on my own with this project. Six years later, audio book technology is much more accessible than it once was, so I'm going to do it myself, with help from family and friends. I intend to start recording on June 20: The Longest Day.
You can support me by pledging any amount to the Alzheimer's Association's Longest Day fundraising event via this page. My pledge to you is that I will send you a free download of the audio book version of Her Beautiful Brain as soon as it's done.
The Longest Day fundraising event advances the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Right now, the association's online and hotline outreach to overwhelmed and isolated caregivers during the Covid19 pandemic is incredibly important.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, 16 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
On this day that celebrates summer sunlight, stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
