Fundraising Honor Roll

My name is Iveta Boyanchek. I was born in Slovakia where I lived until completing medical school. I then moved to the US and found myself in St. Louis, MO, where I met my future husband, Jim. Life led us to the vibrant city of Chicago for the next 15 years, where I pursued my residency in general psychiatry and a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry.

In 2014, Columbus, Georgia became our new home when I accepted the position of medical director of geriatric psychiatry at The Bradley Center of St. Francis Hospital. My family and I have since fallen in love with the warm, welcoming, and generous community here, cherishing all that it has to offer.

Shortly after our move to Columbus, I crossed paths with Kay Saunders, who introduced me to the local Alzheimer's association chapter. This connection led me to serve on the Georgia Board of Alzheimer Association, representing Chattahoochee Valley.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of caring for countless patients with Alzheimer's dementia and their families. Over two decades, I've witnessed the emotional and financial toll this disease takes, along with the heart-wrenching uncertainty it brings. I am deeply honored to raise awareness and work toward finding a cure.

After years of attending and supporting the Dancing Stars of Columbus event, I have finally overcome my stage fright, much to the joy of my daughters, Jackie and Sophia, family and friends. Now, I stand here, ready to dance—not just for applause, but for all my patients, sharing their strength and hope.
