Fundraising Honor Roll

Hi, I'm Carolanne Wright, and I'm so excited and motivated to be part of the mission to find an effective cure for Alzheimer's.

I am a retired Army sergeant major who spent 28 years in various public affairs roles and assignments, and I had the distinct pleasure to travel all over the globe doing so.  At the end of my Army career, I entered my second chapter as an adoptive mother of two beautiful and brilliant daughters who will cheer me on throughout this endeavor. We moved here following our final Army assignment in Oahu, Hawaii, because we felt this was the place to enjoy beautiful people and beautiful weather year-round. We were right!

I’m now a stay-at-home mom who gets to enjoy volunteering at the schools as well as for community activities. I’m a United Way volunteer as well as a proud member of the 1st Congressional District Federation of Democratic Women. I’m passionate about helping my community as well as helping those interested in effecting positive change.

My volunteer function that has my highest attention right now is as the communications manager for Dr. Michelle Monroe in her bid for the 1st Congressional District Congressional Seat. She’s a candidate prioritizing affordable health care, education, military and veterans, jobs and climate change – all things that important to my household and my community.

Along with volunteering, I enjoy gardening, reading, traveling with my family and hanging out at our neighborhood lake where I enjoy crabbing and fishing with my daughter.

I feel strongly about this fundraiser and what it stands for because my mother, who was not yet 50 years old when she died, suffered with onset dementia, and I learned through the traditional “pass-down family history” that many other members of my family dealt with either dementia or Alzheimer’s. As a single mother, it does worry me about even the smallest possibility of receiving such a diagnosis.

It is my honor to be even a small part of contributing to finding an effective cure for this ravishing condition. I will do my best to raise funds and make my family and friends proud in the 2022 Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia.

CHECKS MUST BE IN ATLANTA BY COB ON 5/17/2022 - IF THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE, PLEASE CALL STEPHEN TO LET HIM KNOW YOU WILL BE BRINGING A CHECK TO THE EVENT!
