Evan D. Schoenberg, M.D., is a father, husband, opthalmologist, computer programmer, scuba diver, and wine enthusiast who is dancing this year to support the Alzheimer's Association in honor of his wife's family and of the estimated 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease.
Named one of America's top 100 opthalmologists by Newsweek in 2021 and recognized locally as a Top Doctor by both Atlanta Magazine and Castle Connolly, Dr. Schoenberg spends his days performing vision correction surgery, including cornea transplants, LASIK, and cataract surgery. His usual exposure to dance is on the sidelines through his daughters, Leigha (8) and Isla (4), who love hip hop and ballet, so the preparations for this intense competition will be far from his routine.
