I am so honored and excited to be a part of the 2020 Dancing Stars of Columbus Cast. This is such a fun night, but also such an important night of support for the Alzheimer's Association.
Alzheimer's disease affects over 5 million Americans and is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Unfortunately, these numbers are growing and research is vital to learning more about the disease. Support raised at events such as these provides means to conduct research, as well as support patients and families coping with this progressive illness.
I was born and raised in Moultrie, Georgia. Following graduation from high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After serving five years, with multiple deployments, as an F-18 avionics technician, I began my college career at Columbus State University.
I later transferred and graduated from the University of Georgia with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree, but switched focus from pharmacy to dentistry, and was accepted to the Medical College of Georgia- College of Dental Medicine. I completed a post-graduate residency in Pediatric Dentistry in Augusta prior to moving back to make Columbus home.
I opened Columbus Children’s Dentistry in 2014 and, while it can be challenging some days, I love that I get to do what I do! I like to think that my patients keep me young! My wife Kimble and I have three children that keep us running. I love to do anything outside and travel with my family in my free time.
I certainly do not consider myself a dancer, but I do love an excuse to have fun and be a little silly! I have also seen the impact of Alzheimer’s Disease both professionally and personally, and I hope that my participation in Dancing Stars of Columbus will raise awareness and support for those impacted by this debilitating disease.
