My Story
As many of you know, my mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's dementia in 2016. Since then, she has been struggling with it everyday, but my sister and I have been doing our best to love her through it.
My mom came to Chicago to watch me run my 1st marathon, and I will always remember her cheering me on from the sidelines and being there for me at the finish line. I am now training to run my 8th marathon - the Washington DC Marine Corps Marathon - on October 31, 2021. In addition to lots of long runs on the weekend, I want to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association, which is a national organization working to advance care, support, and research to end Alzheimer's.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Please make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing this disease. Thank you!
