We’re participating in this wonderful event to assist with a critical community concern: caring for loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia while simultaneously searching for a cure. Here’s why we’re dancing:

Kendra Harris, Business Office Director with Brightview Senior Living- have always loved dancing and when my Executive Director, Kadine Mitchell, volunteered to dance at the 2019 Memory Ball, I knew this was something I would also like to do. Over the years of working with family members with loved ones living with dementia and spending time in Brightview’s dementia care neighborhood, I have developed a deep commitment to helping those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. I also have personal experience with my beloved great-grandmother who lived with dementia- Alice Brown.  I am honored to be a part of this year’s Memory Ball.

Rob Connolly, Program Manager with Bayada Home Health Care- I am dancing specifically for my father Gerald who we lost to Alzheimer’s last year at the age of 72.  My dad was the life of the party and loved helping others.  He would have wanted to be a dancer at the ball himself if he was still around.  To see the horrible effects that Alzheimer’s has up close in person is enough to want to do something about it.  The Memory Ball is an amazing way to not only bring finances directly to an amazing cause but to also bring awareness to the devastation that this disease has on so many lives.  If we as a country, can recognize how many people this disease affects then we can start to do something about it.  Unfortunately, another family member of mine has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s; this disease definitely hit’s home for me.  As a healthcare provider working with Bayada Home Health Care we support numerous families that too have to deal with this disease.  I feel by dancing we can help bring awareness and resources to one day provide a cure.

SO—How can YOU help?? –We need your support! Please make a vote or purchase tickets and help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments, and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.

Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's and all forms of dementia begins right here, right now! See you on the dance floor!!!
