2021 Baltimore Memory Ball Dancing Stars

I was born and raised in Edgewater, MD where I currently live with my son, Alex.  I attended  South River High School and went into banking prior to accepting a concierge position at Brightview South River. I  was promoted a short time later to Business Office Manager or “BOM”. As the BOM, I have  managed everything from resident information to hiring and Human Resources tasks.

Early this year I was promoted to the BOM at Brightview Crofton Riverwalk, a newly opened Brightview continuum in Crofton, MD. My past skills and experience lent themselves well to opening a new community with a new set of Associates and residents.

I have always loved dancing and when my good friend and former Executive Director, Kadine Mitchell, volunteered to dance at last year’s Memory Ball, I knew this was something I would also like to do. When I  was asked to dance this year and after taking some time to realize the commitment, I decided to accept the invitation. Between opening a new community and raising a pre-teen boy free time is scarce but I  knew this was my year!!

Over the years of working with family members with loved ones living with dementia and spending time in Brightview’s dementia care neighborhood, I have developed a deep commitment to helping those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. I have also had personal experience with my beloved great-grandmother who lived with dementia.  I am honored to be a part of this year’s Memory Ball.
