Doing My Part for a Great Cause
Thank you friend for taking the time to read this and hopefully support my effort to rasie awareness and funds for research into a cure for Alzhheimers. I've witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of this disease which took the life of my Aunt Peggy and is afflicting other members of my family. Most people are aware of the memory loss associated with Alzheimers but it can also be a physically debilitating disease as the afflicted can forget to eat, causing their body to slowly wither away. Some of the afflicted can't even remember their spouses and family members which is an incrediblly sad situation for everyone involved. The fact that this runs in my family makes me more susceptible and it frightens me that someday I may not be able to recognize my seven amazing nephews and nieces. Advancements are being made in prevention but so much more research is needed to find a cure. I've therefore decided to take action, both for my family and everyone who could suffer through this. I'll be cycling about 100 kilometers, aka a "Metric Century" (62 miles) through southern New Hampshire and the upper North Shore of MA to help raise awareness and funds. My part may be a small one but we all know that a lot of people doing a little bit together can lead to a significant result. I'm taking that approach to my fundraising goal and asking that you donate just $10 to my cause. Larger donations are certainly welcomed too!
