is fundraising to honor:
all those facing Alzheimer's
I had the coolest mom on the planet. (My mom could beat up your mom!) When I was 12 years old she gave up being an anesthetist to become a pilot. She not only got her license—she earned her instrument rating, her multi-engine rating, became an instructor, flew charter for companies, flew air ambulance and by the time I was 16 years old, she took up acrobatics! (How many of you have flown upside down with YOUR mom???)
After my first acrobatic air ride, flying loops, and rolls and upside down, I believed she was the bravest person I'd ever met. Years later, when she began her journey with Alzheimer's—I became sure of it. Alzheimer's was the one thing I think she ever feared. She watched her mother and her aunt both eventually lose their memories, their abilities and eventually their sense of self. She dealt with this terrible disease with dignity and a sense of humor. It's in her honor that I spend The Longest Day sharing my gifts to help those whose lives have been touched in any way by Alzheimer's.
So on June 21st I'm asking you to join us for 30 minutes or all day—online. we're planning a day of laughter, learning and celebration. We'll be visiting with experts and with folks you've probably never heard of and we'll share their insights and stories, sure to make you laugh (and maybe occasionally shed a tear).
Details are below and on our Team Page. Please join us!
