Fundraising Honor Roll

We will be dancing at the Memory Ball on May 6th, in order to raise funds, assist with research and caregiving support for those with Alzheimer's. We are participating in this amazing event to assist with a community concern across the nation.

We are Pastors in Baltimore City, as well as professionals in the field of Health & Wellness. More specifically, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & a Mental Health Therapist and I have worked with many families to navigate resources, help with emotional adjustments, as well as have helped families have a better quality of life with knowledge on how to navigate with the disease.

Recently, we found out that our grandmother has mild dementia. This is my first encounter of this with a family member. As a social worker and therapist, my world revolves around helping people work through life changes, but it's different as I watch myself and my family go through changes. Early Childhood and adolescence was extremely traumatic for me. Growing up, my sister and I were in foster care, lived in a shelter for an extended period of time, and experienced complex trauma. Although eventually reconnected with family, our family dynamic has always been and continues to be really odd and complicated. My connection and relationship development with my grandmother has only recently begun in my adult life, so that makes this even more heart breaking. Despite this, I have been enjoying the time we have in the present and I am going to dance in honor of her. My husband’s grandmother also had dementia in her last days, and it hugely impacted he and his family. Lastly, May 6th is also our 6year wedding anniversary, so we want to dedicate this day to our grandmothers on behalf of our family.

This is why we need your support, so we can all be a part of this together! We are overwhelmed by commitments we have already received! So thank you so much!! Please consider making a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. You can donate by clicking on the green Vote Now button above. I know that you have many options for your philanthropic dollars, and I am grateful for any level of support in our collective quest to conquer this disease.
