My wife, Kris, died last January at Grand View Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Peoria. She had been a resident there since August 2018, after I could no longer provide adequate care for her in our home. Kris’s 10-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease is now over and she is at peace. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The photo on this page is from our 2011 trip to China. It perfectly captures her personality.
Countless others still struggle with this devastating disease that robs them of their quality of life in their later years. They need our help and the Alzheimer’s Association needs our financial support. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association is a family affair. My daughter, Gretchen Moon, and her husband, Joe, direct their donations to my site. My son, Geoff, and his wife, Allison, maintain their own site. Last year my family collectively received 161 donations totaling nearly $32,000. We finished in 41st place in the nation. Our 4-year total is nearly $85,000. We want to do even better this year, and with your help we will. We are again partnering in our fundraising efforts with the Grandview Guys & Gals team.
Please consider a generous donation to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Please help them find a cure. You will feel good about this. Thank you.
