I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the 2021 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®.
My husband, Rick, was diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer's in 2018; this diagnosis was changed to Lewy Body Dementia in September 2019. Rick also had cancer. We lost Rick July 30, 2020 due to the cancer; but, the reason was dementia. See, my daughter and I had to make the difficult decision to stop Rick's chemo as he was having more and more difficulty with the chemo. He simply didn't understand what was happening. Five months later he was gone.
The Walk does several things: it raises awareness of Alzheimer's, brings together a wonderful community of sufferers and caregivers, and most importantly raises money for research to find a cure.
I walk for Rick; I walk for our daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, extended family and friends. I walk for you.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. .
