In October 2019, we had to place my mom, Evy, into a memory care facility. It was a very difficult decision to make for my father and our family. The transition went fairly well until COVID-19 hit. We were not able to hug her neck for 9 months. This cruel disease coupled with isolation was devastating for her morale and well-being. Now, we are able to visit her again and her spirit has been lifted! She doesn't speak much anymore, but will sometimes give us a smile or say "I love you". Please continue to pray for my family, and that we can find the cure to Alzheimer's.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
