Since 2009, I have been participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. My personal awareness of the disease resulted from the affliction of my father-in-law. My mother-in-law was a wonderful caregiver during his decline until his passing in 2018.
My mother was then diagnosed with the disease in her latter years and declined to the point where I could beat her at a game of Scrabble! We lost her last year after she fell in October. Thank God my wife and I were able to communicate with her via FaceTime and Zoom during the nursing home lockdowns.
My wife and I participate in their memory and we pray that others may be spared from this experience.
Through our collective efforts, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please consider making a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Also consider supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our local walk in Katy, Texas is being held on September 25, 2021 at LaCenterra shopping center.
