My Mom loved to walk. From long walks on the beach with my Dad to stealing time with each of her four kids for catch up walks, or jaunts with her girlfriends, there was nothing like a long walk to solve the world's problems, or simply to reconnect. The youngest of four, I cherished those strolls and stolen moments, getting her advice, or learning about a new recipe. Even three years after her 16-year losing battle with Alzheimer's, those treasured walks are high on the list of what I miss most.
By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm honoring my Mom's memory while leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
