I am choosing to honor my grandpa Dale Hedrick who I lost to Alzheimer’s disease. If you know anyone affected by Alzheimer’s you know that is it heartbreaking to see them struggling not only with daily activities but remembrance of the ones they love, the constant crying, and the lost look in their eyes. My grandpa despite having all of these symptoms still carried his uplifting spirit wherever he went. He loved with no limits and was happy to be surrounded by the people he loved even if he wasn’t able to put a name to a face. Although he isn’t here anymore there is nothing that would mean more to me than to honor him in any and every way I can to thank him for all he did for me. He was and still is the best papa. On September 25th in Springfield, Mo I will be walking with my Sigma Kappa sisters to help end the walk to Alzheimer’s. I would love to see you there!
