As the director of an assisted living, memory care neighborhood, I am lucky to spend my day focusing on all the possibilities to create moments of joy in the everyday tasks and conversations that most people take for granted. Everyday, there is something to celebrate with the residents in my neighborhood, but families sometimes struggle with the 1,000 little losses they experience with their loved one over the course of this person-robbing disease. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make just a small donation to help me, my residents, their families, and anyone you may know that is struggling with this disease. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease!
Thank you, and I hope you have your own moment of joy today!
