I am walking to honor the memory of my dad, Don Bowen, who on July 28, 2017, lost his fight with Alzheimer's. But those of you who were lucky enough to know him, know that he didn’t really lose. He is in Heaven with our Lord, playing the piano and singing "The Lighthouse" and "How Great Thou Art". He’s telling jokes and “out standing in his field”. No pain or frustration. Just pure joy and happiness.
I am walking, because we believe the first survivor is out there.
By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to EndAlzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’sresearch, care and support. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course ofthis disease.
The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
