On walk day I will be holding a purple flower. The purple flower symbolizes the fact that I've lost someone to Alzheimer's or Dementia. In fact, I've lost three grandparents to Alzheimer's or Dementia. I know how important it is to raise awareness and funds for research, care and support. I'm walking because I've experienced the heartache of watching my loved one slip away while still here before my eyes. I've seen the exhaustion & loss of hope in caregivers eyes. I've dared to let the question cross my mind, "Will this happen to ME?" But, through getting involved with the Alzheimer's Association, I've also learned I'm not alone. That there are support groups, there are people advocating to fund research , volunteering in community programs, fundraising and walking to raise awareness! People are DOING SOMETHING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! I want to be one of those people!
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
