As you may know, I lost my mom to Alzheimer’s a little over a year ago. I miss her every day. To see someone living/dying from Alzheimer's is horrible. There is no cure, there is nothing one can do to avoid it. I am participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on October 2nd in her honor. I am also raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — the funds allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research. There was a drug company that recently developed a drug (not a cure) that has the potential to give more time to those with early stage Alzheimer's disease. The drug costs $56,000 annually. Who can afford that?!? The Alzheimer's Association works with organizations to fight for the ability to have this treatment accessible, affordable and for insurance coverage. This is why I stand by the Alzheimer's Association.
Families everywhere that are facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
