Why I Walk? My grandfather had Dementia and passed away in 2005. I have several friends and family members that have lost loved ones to Alzheimer's. There are countless caregivers caring for their loved ones - unpaid, unrecognized. Someone that you work with day in and day out may be caring for their loved one and you would never know. People don't talk about this particular disease I think because it strips away the dignity, personality and really the person their loved one once was before the disease took over.
I've been volunteering as the co-chair for the Birmingham Walk to End Alzheimer's for the last 4 years. This year, I am excited to say I am serving as a member of the Board of Directors to help raise funds and awareness on a larger scale. The Walk will always hold a special place for me because I worked hard to grow it to be a successful event and met so many people along the way.
I'm asking you to join our fight for the first survivor! Please consider any donation to my page and help me hit my fundraising goal! Thank you so much for your support.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
