Most of you know that I cared for my mother for about three years. It was a full time job 24/7 but it was an honor to be able to do that. What I learned during that time is unable to be put into words. My mother taught me so much just by example. It made me rethink who I was and work to change to be a better person and to be more like her. I lost my dear sweet mom on May 20th, 2014 after a very hard fought battle. She was always very gracious and so grateful for anything anyone did for her. Her last words were, "Thank you." She passed with dignity. I am so proud to be able to continue her journey. When she left this earth to be with her maker in heaven, I knew she was leaving her journey here for me to continue. So my goal is to keep working until we can find some way to help those with this disease or even better, find a cure. So I will continue to walk every year in hopes of finding a cure or some way to slow this disease.
If you could make a donation to help out, I would be so grateful but so would the many others who have been impacted by this disease. Our team name for donations is SWEET CORA. I have also included some info provided by the Alzheimier's Association below.
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Remember our team name is SWEET CORA for a donation.
Thank you. Please help us reach our goal!
