Tom Cassidy here! I am the co-captain for BAYADA Home Health Care’s 52 Walk to End Alzheimer’s teams nationwide, a Philadelphia Team BAYADA Walk member, a member of the Philadelphia Run to Remember committee and the Team BAYADA Run captain.
My mother passed away in 2014 with advanced dementia. It is her courage, devotion and love that has inspired me to get involved in finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Like me and my mom, I am almost certain everyone reading this knows someone living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. But did you know there are 5.8 million Americans with the disease and the numbers grows every 65 seconds? Alzheimer’s is currently the 6th leading cause of death nationwide. This year, Alzheimer’s care will cost Americans $290 Billion and this does not include the 16 million Americans providing unpaid care. The Alzheimer’s Association is leading the way in research to a cure and they need our help.
Thank you for helping the Alzheimer’s Association find the first survivor on the way to a world without Alzheimer’s. For more information, visit ALZ.org. The end of Alzheimer’s starts with us!
