I'm fundraising and walking in honor of my mother, Kathy Legris, who was diagnosed with Lewey Body Dementia over a year ago. She's 68 and now in a memory care facility. She's had brain seizures for the last 5-6 years. The most difficult part is grieving for someone that is still alive, but their mind seems to be gone. She still knows names and who we are, and also has imaginary visits with family which she talks about regularly, which is very relieving. She's been the light of my life, my soul. I will continue to live in her honor and be as healthy as possible. I have hope one day we will find a cure for this debilitating disease, thanks to the Alzheimer's Assn. Prayers and hope to everyone affected by this disease.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
