I walk for my mother, Sherry Watson. She is the light of my family and the glue that holds it together. As her Alzheimer's progresses, she holds her head up fearlessly & faces it head-on. She refuses to let it define the good times she has left with us. It is through her unwavering strength that I find the inspiration to raise awareness, fundraise, and participate in the Walk 2 End Alz. I know she won't stop fighting even when she is at her worst. Therefore, I won't stop fighting until there is a cure. I love you, Mom.
I also walk for my father, Glenn Watson, who is my mothers primary caretaker and who's work, love & patience often gets overlooked just like so many other caretakers. Thank you for everything you do for mom - and for all the other caretakers out there, you're so brave and are in the trenches with this disease day in and day out.
As the LA Walk 2 End Alzheimer's Event Chair, I see first hand the impact these walks have on our communities and the importance of advocating on behalf of such a wonderful organization.
We can lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
